Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
ca. 2 min
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

In the preliminary screening test following the EU and the UN method, the test substance was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Melting to black clumps was observed. No sign of ignition within two minutes was detected.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (flammable solids) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test substance should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), resp
Executive summary:

The flammability of test substance was tested according to EU Method A.10 using a non-combustible, non-porous and low heat-conducting base plate (tile), length 300 mm. The test substance N-(2-Acetamido)-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid; N-(Carbamoylmethyl)taurine (ACES) should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), resp.
