Results and discussion
Partition coefficient
- Key result
- Type:
- log Pow
- Partition coefficient:
- >= 23 - <= 26
- Remarks on result:
- not determinable because of methodological limitations
- Details on results:
- Neither of the available experimental test methods were applicable for the test item. Therefore, the log Pow was estimated using the calculation method based on theoretical fragmentation. Using the main components of Eldew PS-203, the log Pow was concluded to be most probably in the range between 23 to 26.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The log Pow of the test item was calculated to be in the range between 23 und 26.
- Executive summary:
Neither the HPLC-method according to OECD Guideline 117 nor the flask-shaking method according to OECD 107 were applicable for the determination of the partition coefficient. The estimation of log Pow based on the individual solubilities is not reliable for substances miscible with one of the solvents in any ratio. Therefore the n-octanol/water partition coefficient log Pow was calculated via KOWWIN, Version 1.6. Based on the fragmentation of the components, log Pow values ranging from 23 to 26 were calculated via the estimation program.
