- other: The highest burning rate of the mixture test item/cellulose was determined to be 1.32 mm/s. The maximum burning rate of the reference item was determined to be 3.26 mm/s. Therefore, the test item is considered to have no oxidising properties.

- Executive summary:
An experimental study was available to determine the Oxidising Properties of Cupric Bromide according to EU A.17 and under GLP conditions.
In the pre-test, the mixture of cellulose and test item burned slowly with green-blue coloured flame. The mixture was not completely carbonized.
The maximum burning rate of mixtures of a reference item (Ba(NO3)2) was determined. Likewise, the burning rates of mixtures of the test item with cellulose (in different proportions) were determined. As only the burning rate of one mixture could be measured, as the other mixtures did not ignite or no propagation of the flame took place. Therefore, only the highest burning rate of test item/cellulose (10%/90%) was determined six times.
The maximum burning rate undercut the maximum burning rate of the mixture of reference item and cellulose.
The test item Cupric Bromide is considered to have no oxidising properties.
The study respected the validty criteria and no deviations from the test guideline was observed. Therefore, the study can be considered as acceptable for that endpoint.
