PRELIMINARY TEST

Different amounts of the test item were suspended in n-octanol and the respective mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h.

The cloud point of the test item is about 0.01 g/2 mL. A 5-fold concentration of the test item was used for the investigation.

CONDUCT OF THE STUDY

About 500 mg of the test item were suspended in 20 ml n-octanol and stirred in a heated water bath at 30 °C for 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h, respectively.

After incubation, the sarnple suspensions were cooled to 20 °C and kept at this temperature for 24 h without stirring. Afterwards the samples were centrifuged (3500 U/min) at 20 °C for 30 minutes. Above the sediments of all samples clear liquids were obtained. The clear liquids of the three test solutions (24 h, 48 h and 72h) were isolated, diluted 2.0 ml/50 mL tetrahydrofuran and analysed by liquid chromatography.

STUDY RESULTS

The concentrations of the different test solutionswere calculated automatically using the equation of the calibration curve. The results are summarised in the table below:

n-Octanol solubility of the test item is 5.972 g/L ± 0.0301 g/L.

It was integrated over all peaks (retention time 20 -38 min) and the external standard method was used. Additionally an accumulation of the peaks at retention times from 21 min to 26 min is observed (cp. overlay of the chromatograms).

The n-octanol solubility was determined at 20 °C.

Conclusions:
The n-Octanol solubility of N,N'-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) was determined to be 5.972 g/L ± 0.0301 g/L.
Executive summary:

The solubility of N,N'-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) in n-Octanol was measured according to OECD Guideline 105 (27 July 1995) using the flask method at 20 °C.

It was integrated over all peaks (retention time: 20 —38 min) and the extemal standard method was used. Additionally an accumulation of the peaks at retention times from 21 min to 26 min is observed (cp. overlay of the chromatograms).

The n-Octanol solubility of N,N'-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) was determined to be 5.972 g/L ± 0.0301 g/L.
