Description of key information

The partition coefficient was determined by estimation from the solubility in water respectively buffer. at pH 7, and the solubility in n-octanol.  Results:
The water solubility is 111 g/L at 20.0 °C (see separate record.
The solubility in buffer pH 7 is 125 g/L at 20.0 °C.
The solubility in n-octanol is <52 mg/L at 20.0 °C.
Estimated log Pow of the test substance (buffered to pH 7): < -3.4.
Estimated log Pow of the test substance (without pH correction): < -3.3.
The log Pow, estimated by QSAR is -3.35.

Additional information

The substance is a salt, the anion is chloride and the cation is a zwitter ion. No undissociated test substance can therefore be obtained as required by the guidelines. The available methods in the guidelines are only valid outside the expected logPow. Therefore the partition coefficient was estimated by determining the solubility in water (repectively buffer at pH 7) and in n-octanol.
