Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General advice:
Remove from exposure. Remove contaminated clothing.
- Following inhalation:
In case of inhalation, remove from contaminated atmosphere and seek medical attention if respiratory irritation occurs.
- Following skin contact:
Wash with water and soap.
- Following eye contact: Flush with plenty of water.
- Following ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Flush out mouth with water. Get medical aid.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Use standard firefighting techniques. Use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or foam.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media:
None.
- Fire fighter procedure: Evacuate personnel to safe area.
- Advice for fire fighter: Firefighters should use self-contained breathing equipment and protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions:
Make sure all personnel involved in the spill area follow good industrial hygiene pratices.
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Avoid that the substance build up static electricity.
- Environmental precautions:
The substance is slightly soluble in water. Isolate contaminated area.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Remove the substance by cleaner (wet mopping).
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
The substance is not considered as a fire hazard. When powdered. it is advisable to ground mechanical equipment in contact with dry material to dissipate the potential building up of static electricity.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store away from boiler.

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures: Avoid static electricity, local exhaust recommended.
2. Organisational protection measures
3. Hand protection: Use suitable protective cloves.
4. Body protection: Use suitable protective clothing.
5. Eye protection: Use safety goggles.
6. Respiratory protection: Use a suitable dust respirator (P2).
Stability and reactivity
1. Reactivity
: The substance is stable under normal conditions.
2. Chemical stability
: When heated to decomposition material emits irritating and toxic fumes of NOx and SOx.
Disposal considerations
Sweep up spilled material being careful not to create dust. Place sweepings in a chemical waste container. Flush contaminated area with water and detergent. Dispose of waste in accordance with federal, state or local laws.
