burning rate test over 100 mm length
Burning time:
11 s

Any other information on results incl. tables

Preliminary Test

The burning time over a distance of 200 mm is 32 s. This is below the threshold of the burning time of 2 minutes to UN Transportation Regulation and GHS / CLP Regulation. Therefore the main test had to be performed.

Main Test

In the main test the burning time over a distance of 100 mm after a pre-burning distance of 80 mm was measured. The burning time over a distance of 100 mm is 11 s and the combustion could not be stopped by the wetted zone. The results of the tests are summarized in Table1.

Due to the fact that already in the first test the burning time was 11 s, no further tests were necessary.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (flammable solids) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
As determined by the ignition method, p-Benzoquinone is a flammable solid.
Executive summary:

The burning time over a distance of 100 mm is 11 sand the combustion could not be stopped by the wetted zone. This is below the threshold for classification.

The test item p-benzoquinone has to be classified as flammable solid in category 1 with the Hazard Statement H228 “Flammable Solid” according to GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) Annex 1: 2.7.
