According to the peer reviewed CRC handbook, lutetium oxide has a melting point of 2427°C.

Description of key information

From a GLP study (K1, Demangel, 2017) based on the OECD 102 guideline and the EC A.1 method, the test item does not have a melting point since no melting of the test item was recorded up to 600 °C. Additionally, based on experimental data mentioned in the literature (CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, 2016), lutetium oxide has a melting point of 2427°C at ambient pressure, which supports the result of the key study.
