Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Ecotoxicity testing has not been performed with the glycosidase pullulanase except for an in-house screening test in Daphnia magna, but several other glycosidases have been tested for acute aquatic toxicity.

The physico-chemical properties of enzymes including logKow are very similar . They are further proteins built up of amino acids and the type, order and number of the amino acids in the polymer differs between enzymes, determining the 3-dimensional structure, the activity and specificity of the individual enzyme type. Because all enzymes are built up of the same amino acids the physical and chemical characteristics will be very similar for different enzymes and even more similar within the same sub-class, hence read-across from other glycosidases should be fully applicable.

Data obtained for the glycosidase alpha-amylase have been used for PNEC derivation for the glycosidase pullulanase because alpha-amylase can be considered worst-case representative enzyme within the tested glycosidases.
