In the assessment a 96-h LC50 value of >32 mg/L is taken from a non-GLP, OECD 203 guideline study with the guppy Poecilia reticulata conducted under semi-static conditions without analytical monitoring (Azko Nobel Research Laboratories, 1991).

No short-term tests are available with Daphnia and algae for sodium dibenzyldithiocarbamate. The results from the structural analogue sodium diethyldithiocarbamate are used (see Appendix A.4) no safety factor is used asit can be expected that sodium dibenzyldithiocarbamate is less toxic than sodium diethyldithiocarbamate. A 48-h EC50 value of 0.91 mg/L in Daphnia magna from a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985) is used in the assessment. For algae a 96-h ErC50 value of 1.4 mg/L in Chlorella pyrenoidosa from a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985) is used in the assessment.
