Description of key information

Despite the large numerical difference between the two calculated boiling points (in the range of 417 to 673.6°C and based on the notional solid structure), the high boiling point values indicate that the substance is not volatile.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Information regarding boiling point of 50% aqueous solution of gluconic acid is based on the notional solid structure, gluconic acid, and was calculated using the ACD/I-Lab service ACD/LogP v8.02 and the Estimation Programs Interface (EPI) SuiteTM United States Environmental Protection Agency MPBPVP Program (v1.43), both considered of Klimisch-2 reliability. The predicted values for boiling point of gluconic acid are 673.6±55°C and 417.09°C based on ACD and EPI Suite calculations, respectively.
