Description of key information

The substance is a pale yellow to pale green liquid. The melting/freezing temperature was determined to be less than -20°C following laboratory tests.

The test item has been determined to decompose from approximately160 °C (433 K) at 100.8 to 102.0kPa. As the test item decomposed, no value for boiling point could be determined.

The relative density of the test item has been determined to be 0.949 at 20.0 and a density of 949 kg/m3.

The particule size distribution test does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form (study scientifically not necessary).

The vapour pressure was determined to be 1.7 Pa at 25 °C

Determination of partition coefficient and water solubility tests were not scientifically feasible based on observations during method development which indicated hydrolysis of the test item in less than 5 minutes. Due to the rapid hydrolysis of the test item the LogKow and water solubility were calculated using EPISuite, Kowwin v1.68 and EPISuite WSKowwin c1.43 respectively. The estimated values were LogKow 2.99 and water solubility 318.6 mg/L, these values were considered to represent a conservative estimate and suitable for use in the risk assessment.

The surface tension study does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted (study scientifically not necessary).

The flash point was determined to be 104 ± 2 °C and the Auto-Ignition temperature to be 266°C.

The flammability study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid (study technically not feasible) and the substance has neither explosives properties and oxidizing properties.
