Additional information

Appearance

The substance is a dark yellow viscous liquid with no reported odour.

Pour point

The pour point of the test item was determined to be 15 ± 3°C (288 ± 3 K) (OECD 201 and EU Method A.1).

Boiling point

The boiling temperature of the test item was determined to be from 190°C (463K) at 102 kPa. The test item had a broad boiling range with an extrapolated onset of approximately 245 °C (518 K). (OECD 103 and EU Method A.2).

Relative density

The density of the test item has been determined to be 938 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5°C, with a relative density of 0.938 (OECD 109 and EU Method A.3).

Granulometry

This study has been omitted in accordance with Column 2 of Annex VII Section 7.14. The substance is not marketed or used in a solid or granular form and as such this study is not required.

Vapour pressure

The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 2.7E-02 Pa at 25°C (298K) and 21 Pa at 150 °C (423K) (OECD 104 and EU Method A.4)

Octanol-water partition coefficient

The partition coefficient of the test item has been determined to be in the range of 5.75E05 to > 1.0E10 with a log Pow of 5.75 to > 10 (OECD 117 and EU Method B.8)

Water solubility

The water solubility of the test item has been determined to be approximately 1E-05 g/L of solution at 20 ± 0.5 °C (OECD 105 and EU Method A.6)

Surface tension

The water solubility was determined to be less than 1 mg/L, therefore a study for surface activity is scientifically unjustified.

Flash point

The flash point of the test item has been determined to be 214 °C ± 2 °C (EU Method A.9; closed cup)

Autoflammability

The test item has been determined to be have an auto-ignition temperature of 340 ± 5 °C The test item has been determined to be have an auto-ignition temperature of 340 ± 5 °C (EU Method A.15)

Flammability

The substance is non-flammable based on a flash point of 214 °C.

Explosivity

There are no structural alerts for explosive properties within the chemical structure of the test item.

Oxidising

Predicted negative based on the chemical structure of the test item.
