Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Non-flammable liquid.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-reactive substance or mixture.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.
The substance is not an organic peroxide.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Non-flammable liquid. Flammability derived from flash point (and boilling point)

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-reactive as the self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) is greater than 75 °C for a 50 kg package.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a liquid.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as an organic peroxide as by definition based on their chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on flash point (61°C) and boiling point (60-61°C at 7 mmHg, which after conversion would be 204°C at 760 mmHg), the substance does not have to be classified according to Directive 67/548/EEC and according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.

Based on a SADT >75 °C, the substance does not have to be classified according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
