Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Fish:

The acute toxiciy test on fish reveals an LC50 (96h) of 1029 mg/L.

Aquatic Invertebrates:

The substance Cyclohexanaminium, N,N,N-trimethyl-, hydroxide (1:1) was not tested for the endpoint short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates. To cover the endpoint data from the structural analogue substance Cyclohexanaminium, N,N,N-trimethyl-, sulfate (2:1) was used. The toxic effect of the test item Trimethylcyclohexylammonium sulfate, aqueous solution 50 wt.% to Daphnia magna was assessed in a static dose-response test. The 48-hour NOEC was determined to be 100 mg test item/L. The 48-hour LOEC was determined to be 200 mg test item/L and the 48-hour EC50 value was calculated to be 222 mg test item/L.

Algae:

The growth of green algae exposed to the test item was investigated in a 72 hour static test. The test was performed in glass flasks with a capacity of 250 mL containing 100 mL of each treatment per replicate. The initial density of the algae was 1 x 10^4 cells/mL. Five nominal test item concentrations were used for exposure: 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 mg/L plus the control. Morphology observations of the algae cells were performed at exposure termination. In the highest test item concentration of 800 mg/L cells were opalescent as compared to the algae cells in the control. In the remaining test item concentrations no morphology differences were reported as compared to the algae cells in the control. As a result, the EC50 value was found to be > 800 mg/L and the EC10 value was 611.04 mg/L (nominal concentrations, based on growth rate).

Microroganisms:

A 3 hours-activated sludge respiration inhibition test was conducted using nominal test item concentrations of 2000, 1000, 500, 250 and 125 mg/L. 3,5 dichlorophenol was used as positive control. The EC50 of 3,5-dichlorophenol was found to be 6.0 mg/L. For the test substance, an EC10 of 360 mg/L and an EC50 of >2000 mg/L (based on nominal effect concentrations) were found. Based on the active ingredient, the EC50 was > 1000 mg/L and the EC10 was 180 mg/L.
