Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
0.29 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Incubation duration:
3 d
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
5
Details on results:
The relative standard deviation between the single determinations is < 15 %. The validity criteria have therefore been met.

In a preliminary test, the water solubility of the test item was found to be 0.4 mg/L. The shake flask method is, according to the guideline, applicable to a water solubility above 10-2 g/L only. In a pretest the water solubility was determined to be approx. 0.4 mg/L. A test with the column method showed that coating of the test item on the loading material didn´t work. Therefore the water solubility was determined by flask method.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of CN-ethyl-TH-naphthyridin in demineralized water at 20 °C is determined to be: 0.29 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of CN-ethyl-TH-naphthyridin in demineralized water was determined with the shake flask method at 20 °C according to OECD 105 and showed a value of 0.29 mg/L (mean value) at 20 °C (no pH-value was reported). The mean pH-value of the three measurements was approx. 5.
