Description of key information

The log BCF of DMATO was estimated to range from 0.5 -3.45 (BCF= 3.16 - 2818 L/kg wet-wt)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
2 818 L/kg ww

Additional information

The bioconcentration factors of the main constituents of DMATO were estimated by QSAR. The QSAR was carried out using BCFBAF v3.01 and the SMILES notations for the main components. The constituents assessed were as follows:

(Z)-N,N-dimethyl-9-octadecenamide (CAS no: 2664-42-8)

N,N-dimethyl-9,12-octadecadienamide (CAS no: 2501-33-9)

N-methyl-N-nitrosomethanamine (CAS no: 62-75-9)

The estimated log BCF for (Z)-N,N-dimethyl-9-octadecenamide is 3.45 (BCF= 2818 L/kg wet-wt). The estimated log BCF for N,N-dimethyl-9,12-octadecadienamide is 2.87 (BCF= 741 L/kg wet-wt). The estimated log BCF for N-methyl-N-nitrosomethanamine is 0.5 (BCF= 3.16 L/kg wet-wt).
