Additional information

Two GLP Guideline studies on freshwater fish are availabe. The results of a static exposure test on Brachydanio rerio indicats that the test substance has no toxic effect in the range of water solubility. The LC50 is > 10000 mg/L (BASF AG, 1995). The result is supported by a second test on the acute toxicity of bismuth vanadate to fish. In a study conducted in compliance with JIS K 0102-1933 71 Oryzias latipes was exposed to the substance for 48 hours. A LC50 >100 mg/l was determined at test termination (Ciba-Geigy Japan, 1996).
