Description of key information
In a reliable test (RL 1) on ready biodegradation (OECD 301 F) performed compliant to GLP the test item proved to be readiliy biodegradable, meetng the 10-day time window criterion.

In a reliable test (reliability category 1) on ready biodegradation (OECD 301 F) performed compliant to GLP the test item proved to be readiliy biodegradable. The adaptation period was 15 days (10% degradation). Till day 25 83% and till day 28 86% biodegradation was attained (% O2 -consumption of the theoretical maximum).
In a Zahn-Wellens test performed similar or equivalent to OECD 302B the test item proved to be inherently biodegradable. 90% biodegradation based on DOC removal was reached within 15 days.
The conclusion on ready biodegradation is in principle in agreement with the conclusion drawn in the EU Risk Assessment Report. There, some older, partly not available or reliable studies are mentioned, which deliver ambigous results. In one report, high degradation rates where only achieved with adapted inoculum. As the key study used unadapted inoculum from a municipal STP it is concluded that the substance is ready biodegradable also under conditions of a municipal STP.
