Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Principle :
This method describes the principle of determining the Brookfield viscosity of liquid at a given temperature (generally 20° C). This method is applicable to our liquid products (metal salts) and our liquid raw materials. The temperature of the sample must be maintained within ± 0.5 °C.
Turn on the temperature control bath and the viscometer 10 minutes before the analysis. The viscometer performs an auto-zero each time it is turned on. Pour the sample to analyze into a 600 mL beaker, enough to cover the mark on the spindle. Place the beaker with the product in the bath, then the caliper and the selected spindle.
If the viscosity of the product is unknown :
Set the speed to the slowest speed. Attach the smallest spindle ( LV N°4). Lower the spindle and the caliper into the product to the mark on the spindle and be careful that there are no air bubbles on the spindle while lowering it. If there are some bubbles, remove the spindle, leave it in the product, and shake it until the bubbles disappear. Attach the spindle again. Adjust the level of the viscometer. Turn on the motor.

not specified
Type of method:
