Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Testing for this for this endpoint has been waived in accordance with column 2 restrictions. The relevant part of the submission item Guanidine carbonate is the Guanidine (CAS 113-00-8) as discussed in the section on Environmental fate and pathways above. It is present as the Guanidinium kation (see section Dissociation constant). The carbonate, is considered negligible for the environmental assessment and disregarded in the following discussion.

Data on bioaccumulation exist from Guanidine (CAS 113-00-8), which were published by NITE (1997). BCF values of <0.1 to 0.1 were measured for carp (Cyprinus carpio) exposed to 2 and 20 µg/L of Guanidine over a 6 week incubation period (NITE 1997). According to a classification scheme (Franke 1994), these BCF values suggest bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is low (HSBD 2008).
