Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The substance is considered to be readily biodegradable as demonstrated in the Closed Bottle Test (OECD 301D). The degradation did not meet the 10-day window pass level, but this is not considered relevant for a composite substance like N-(tallow-alkyl)-1,3 -propanediamine oleates. The degradation curve of N-(tallow-alkyl)-1,3-propanediamine oleates is the sum of the growth curves of oleate and the two moieties of N-(tallow-alkyl)-1,3 -propanediamine, biodegradation of each of them may comply with the 10-day window pass-level, but this cannot be seen in the overall biodegradation pattern. The

time-window has therefore be ignored as a pass or fail criterion for N-(tallow-alkyl)-1,3-propanediamine oleates.

Almost complete removal (99.4%) from the waste water in biological wastewater treatment plants was demonstrated in a CAS test (OECD 303A). Removal occured primarily through biodegradation (95.3%) as confirmed by chemical analysis. An additional 4.1% was removed via sorption to sludge.
