Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Key study: Test method EEC method C.4, OECD Guideline 301B. GLP study. Test item was determined to be not readily biodegradable.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Biodegradation in water:
- under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Additional information
Key study: The ready biodegradability of the test substance was assessed in the CO2 Evolution test (Modified Sturm test, EEC Method C.4 and OECD Guideline 301B). 30 mg/L SS of activated sludge were exposed to 10 mgC/L of test item in mineral salts medium (3L) for 36 days under aerobic conditions at temperature of 20 -24 ºC. The obtained results with control vessels confirmed that the inoculum was viable and that the test was valid. Cumulative CO2 production in replicate cultures on Day 28 was equivalent to 51 and 29% degradation. After 36 days of incubation, the mean level of degradation was 62% (level of variation between the replicate cultures of 3% difference). A biodegradation plateau was not achieved by the end of the test on Day 36, and therefore the test item was determined to be not readily biodegradable.
