Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Both ready and inherent biodegradability screening tests have been performed on HERBANATE.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Although HERBANATE has been observed not to readily or inherently mineralised under the conditions of the OECD 301F and OECD 302C guidelines, it has been shown to undergo relatively rapid primary degradation. Substance specific analysis performed at the end of the incubation period (Day 50) of the inherent study, revealed the presence of only 0.65% of the starting concentration of HERBANATE.
