First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove exposed person to fresh air if adverse effects are
observed.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Get
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Immediately remove contaminated
clothing. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
Launder contaminated clothing before reuse and discard shoes
and other leather articles saturated with the material.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Get immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: CO2, dry chemical, foam, water spray, water fog.
Product arising from burning: Oxides of Carbon and Nitrogen
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Use nitrile gloves, safety glasses or faceshield. Long
sleeve shirt is recomended and under normal use conditions,
a respirator is not required.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personal Protective Equipment must be worn. Ventilate area
if spilled in confined space or other poorly ventilated
areas. Prevent entry into sewers and waterways. Pick up free
liquid for recycle and/or disposal. Residual liquid can be
absorbed on inert material.
Handling and storage
Handling: Open container in a well ventilated area. Avoid beathing
vapors. Keep containiners closed when not in use. Wash
thoroughly after handling. Empty container contains residue
which may exhibit hazards of product.
Storage: No special storage precautions are required.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: A UN 1A1 drum is recommended but not required.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: If spilled, the material may be recycled or recovered.
The notified material is used as a component of metalworking
fluids. These fluids are designed to be reused until they
no longer function (3-6 months). At that time they are sent
for disposal as described in section 2 of this dossier.
Since the oil component makes up only about 10% of these
metalworking fluid emulsions, this results in a great
decrease in the amount of oil used in the metalworking
applications and in the amount of oil from spent
metalworking fluids requiring disposal.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The material cannot be readily neutralised to render it less
hazardous.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: It is recommended that the material be disposed of by
incineration or recycling.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The material may be incinerated. It is composed entirely of
C, H, O and N.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The public at large is not expected to be exposed to this
material. It is a metalworking fluid additive used
exclusively in industry.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The public is not expected to be exposed to this material.

industry.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Motor oils should not be disposed of in waterways or water
treatment plants. They should be sent for recycling or
disposal at local collection sites.
