Preliminary test
Assay #1
The test item melted, the liquid ignited 15 seconds later and then the duration of the inflammation was 40 seconds. No propagation were observed.
Assay #2
the test item melted, the liquid ignited 10 seconds later and a propagation of the inflammation was observed during 17 minutes and 42 seconds (1042 s).
Main test
Taking into account the results obtained during the preliminary test, no main test was conduced.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The test item was not considered as highly flammable under our experimental conditions.
- Executive summary:
Introduction
The flammability of the test item was determined according to the EC A10 method (2008).
Procedure
In a preliminary test, a hot flame from a gas burner was applied to one end of the powder. It was noted whether combustion propagates along 200 mm of the train within the 4-min test period. This test was performed two times.
Taking into account the results obtained during the preliminary test, no main test was conduced.
Results
The solid is considered as highly flammable when the time of burning in one assay is less than 45s for non metal-alloy test items.
- Preliminary test
Assay #1 the test item melted, the liquid ignited 15 seconds later and then the duration of the inflammation was 40 seconds. No propagation were observed.
Assay #2: the test item melted, the liquid ignited 10 seconds later and a propagation of the inflammation was observed during 17 minutes and 42 seconds (1042 s).
- Main test
Taking into account the results obtained during the preliminary test, no main test was conduced.
Conclusion
The test item was not considered as highly flammable under our experimental conditions.
