Administrative data

First-aid measures

Remove victim from exposure.
Inhalation: Apply artificial respiration if breathing has ceased or shows signs of failing. Obtain medical attention.
Skin contact: Wash skin immediately with water followed by washing with soap and water.
Eye contact: Remove any contact lenses if safe to do so. Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 15 minutes. Contine until no signs of contamination remain. Obtain medical attention. Only medical personnel should attempt to remove any precipitaited solids.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Only if patient is concious wash out mouth with water and give 200- 300 ml of water to drink. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Highly flammable.
Cool containers exposed to fire with water spray.
Extinguish fire with alcohol resistant foam or dry powder. Do not use high pressure water jet as this may spread burning material.
Fire fighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing in fire conditions.

Accidental release measures

Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Evacuate the area. Keep unnecessary people away.
Only if safe to do so isolate the source of the leak.
Clean-up personnel should wear suitable protecive clothing, including respiratory protection, during removal of spillages.
Do not allow spilt material to enter drains, sewers or watercourses. Contain spillages with sand, earth or other inert absorbent material.
Transfer to container and close securely.
Wash the spillage area with water, which should not be allowed to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.

Handling and storage

Do not breathe vapour. Provide adequate ventilation.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
All electrical equipment must be adequately flame proofed. Use non-sparking tools.
When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Weigh out and use in a dry atmosphere.
Wash hands and exposed kin after use.
Storage:
Keep only in original closed container in a cool, well ventilated place, at temperatures not exceeding 40 deg C.
Keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking.
Storage life: ! year in original unopened container as supplied.

Stability and reactivity

Substance decomposes in prescence of water and temperatures outside the range 10 to 40 deg. C.
Precipitation can occur when stabilising solvents are allowed to evaporate.
