Additional information

No data on the toxicity of hydrazine mononitrate to micro-organisms were located. However, data are available on the toxicity of the structurally similar chemical hydrazine hydroxide to a bacterium (Pseudomonas putida) and a protazoan (Entisiphon sulcatum). The lowest toxicity value was reported in Pseudomonas putida.

In this 16 -h toxicity study, Pseudomonas putida were exposed to hydrazine hydroxide at unspecified concentrations under static conditions.  The 16-h EC3 was determined to be 0.019 mg/l, based on growth inhibition.

This study is classified as Klimisch Code 3 (not reliable) as there were limited data on the concentrations used in the tests, no data on whether the study was carried out under GLP, and the methodolgy used was unclear. However, the study was reported in a peer reviewed journal.
