Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The 96-LC50 of the substance in carp is > maximum solubility of the substance in test medium.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance was tested for its acute toxicity to carp according to OECD 203 (1984) and in compliance with GLP principles. In the range-finding study, 5 fish were exposed to either a freshly prepared test dispersion of 1000 mg/L (nominal) or a freshly prepared test dispersion of 1000 mg/L, that was filtered through a paper filter prior to addition of fish.

In the final study, 10 fish were exposed to dispersions of 1000 mg/L (nominal), that were stirred for 66 hours before the fish were added. This was performed in triplicate. In the test solutions particles of the test substance were observed on the bottom and floating on the surface, during the entire study period. No mortalities occurred in either the range-finding study or in the final study. The validity criteria were met, except that there is no evidence that the concentration of the substance was satisfactorily maintained throughout the study. However, based on the nature of the substance and the over-saturated test solutions used, it was considered justified to conclude that the study is still reliable with restrictions. It is concluded that the 96-LC50 of the substance is > maximum solubility of the substance in test medium.
