Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Data on TetraEGME:

~0.06Pa at 20C (estimated from Antoine constants determined from measurements at higher temperatures)

0.17Pa at 40C (measured)

100Pa at 115C (measured)

No data on PentaEGME. However, the vapour pressure will be dominated by the lower boiling component, which is also the main one, so the boiling point of the multi-constituent substance can be considered equivalent to that of TetraEGME.

Allowing for possible rounding errors in extrapolation from measurements at high temperature, it is reasonable to conclude that the vapour pressure at 20C will be no greater than 0.1Pa. This value is used as the key parameter for this end point.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.1 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Values are available for the vapour pressure of two major components of this multiconstituent substance. This data indicates that the only the lowest molecular weight component will contribute significantly to the vapour pressure. It can be concluded that the vapour pressure of the substance that is the subject of this dossier will be <=~1Pa at 20C.
