Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

Based on cell density, the 5 -day EC50 value was calculated to be 0.12 mg a.i./L (corresponding 95% confidence limit of 0.077 to 0.16 mg a.i./L)Since a statiscally significant effect on cell density was observed at all treatment levels tested, the EC05 value was calculated to provide the 5 -day NOEC value (US EPA, 1994). The 5 -day value for cell density (corresponding 95% confidence limits) was calculated to be 0.0053 mg a.i./L (0.0011 to 0.021 mg a.i./L). Based on these results and the criteria established by the US EPA, Butralin Technical would be classified as highly toxic to Selenastrum capricornutum.
