Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation:
In case of product powder inhalation bring the exposed person to fresh air. If symptoms are present (i.e.: irritation, cough, breathing difficulties) get medical check up. In case of inhalation of combustion or decomposition fumes, bring the exposed person to fresh air and get medical aid immediately.
Skin contact:
Flush skin with water and soap. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes, wash them before reuse. In case of skin burns put the part in water and contact immediately a medical center.
Eye contact:
Flush immediately eyes for at least 15 minutes with plenty of water occasionally lifting the lower and upper lids. Get medical attention if symptom of irritation occurs.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. Remove product from the mouth Keep the patient at rest and call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Foam, water spray, sand, earth, mattresses or sheets of glass/mineral fibres, dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide. Use water to fresh containers not involved in fire.
Do not use: Water in jet may cause dust clouds and larger fires
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Corrosive gases may yield if combustion occurs. Avoid to breath combustion off-gases
Advice for firefighters
Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
For non-emergency personnel: Do not breathe product powder and avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear flame retardant clothing, neoprene or PVC gloves, safety goggles, safety shoes. Avoid friction on the released product and keep away from ignition sources.
For emergency responders: Do not breathe product powder and avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear flame retardant clothing, neoprene or PVC gloves, safety goggles, safety shoes. Avoid friction on the released product and keep away from ignition sources.
Environmental precautions
Prevent dispersion on soil and in water. Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers by using dry sand, earth or appropriate barriers. In case of significant spillage or releasing in water, police and local authorities have to be advised.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Collect material for controlled re-use or waste disposal, using only antistatic tools.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Make provision for sufficient ventilation during packaging opening.
Avoid to produce and accumulate dust.
Beware of static electricity and discharges: use effective ground connections for equipment and containers, use plastic (antistatic) or wood tools. Keep away from ignition sources. Safer handling condition is under inert gas atmosphere (i.e. nitrogen or carbon dioxide)
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep in original tightly closed containers in dry conditions, away from oxidizing agents and ignition sources
