Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

FR-370: A REPRODUCTION STUDY WITH THE EARTHWORM IN AN ARTIFICIAL SOIL SUBSTRATE

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
1 000 mg/kg soil dw
Long-term EC10, LC10 or NOEC for soil macroorganisms:
62.5 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

In a 14 -d Acute toxicity study with FR-370 to earthworms the LC50 was determined to be > 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight.

In a reproductive toxicity study to the earthworm Eisienia fetida, there was no mortality of adult earthworms exposed to FR-370 at 62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg dry soil for 28 days and no statistically significant effects upon adult earthworm weight. One treatment group, the 125 mg/kg treatment group, had a greater than 50% reduction in reproduction relative to the control group however the EC50 value for reproduction calculated using non linear regression analysis was greater than 1000 mg/kg dry soil.

There were statistically significant (p=0.05) effects on the numbers of juveniles produced in the 125, 250, 500 and 1000 kg/mg treatment groups. Therefore, the LOEC was determined to be 125 mg/kg and the NOEC 62.5 mg/kg dry soil.
