Description of key information

Flash point: >300 °C (see section 4.11). Non flammable liquid.

The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the flammability study does not need to be conducted as the flammability is deduced from flash point and boiling point. The flash point was determined in a study similar to EU test method A.9 and is considered reliable.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
The flammability of the test substance is given by its flash point. The flash point is >300 °C. Based on available data on the flash point, the test item is not classified according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the tenth time in Regulation (EU) No 2017/776.
