Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information
Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately
In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately.
In any case show the physician the Safety Data Sheet
After inhalation
Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.
After contact with skin
In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with
plenty of water. If polyethylene glycol is not available, rinse of with plenty of water.
After contact with eyes
Rinse the affected eye with plenty of water, at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.
After ingestion
When swallowed, allow water to be drunk.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
water spray jet, dry powder, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam
Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons
Full water jet
Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours
In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Under certain conditions of combustion traces of other toxic substances cannot be excluded
Special protective equipment for firefighting: Use self-contained breathing apparatus
Further information
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions
Wear personal protective equipment. Unprotected persons must be kept away.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions
Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil
Methods for cleaning up/taking up
Take up with absorbent material (eg sand, kieselguhr, universal binder)
When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal".
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling
Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Avoid spilling, spraying or splashing
When working with open containers, adequate suctioning off of the vapours is necessary.
Product should be worked up in closed equipment as far as possible.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
The product is combustible. The product vapours are heavier than air. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air. Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charges - earthing necessary during loading operations.
Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection
Requirements for storage rooms and vessels
Storage rooms must be properly ventilated. Keep in original packaging, tightly closed
Advice on storage compatibility
Observe TRGS 514Ü (storage compatibility)

Exposure controls / personal protection
During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained.
Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.
General protective measures
Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals. Avoid contact with eyes and skin
Hygiene measures
Wash hands before breaks and after work. Use barrier skin cream.
Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.
Respiratory protection : Full mask, Short term: filter apparatus, Filter A
Hand protection : Butyl rubber gloves. Minimum breakthrough time / gloves : > 480 min, Minimum thickness / gloves 0,35 mm
Nitrile rubber gloves. Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other workplace,
requirements. Minimum breakthrough time / gloves : < 125 min, Minimum thickness / gloves 0,35 mm
Eye protection : safety glasses, or face shield if necessary
Body protection : Clothing suitable to prevent skin contact.
Stability and reactivity
Hazardous reactions
Plastic materials can be attacked. Incompatible with acid chlorides and acid anhydrides. Reactions with oxidising agents. Reactions with halogens
Reactions with acids.
Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrous gases, Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide
Disposal considerations
Product
Product should be be taken to a suitable and authorized waste disposal site in accordance with relevant regulations and if necessary after consultation with the waste disposal operator and/or the competent Authorities
Uncleaned packaging
Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
