First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
If inhaled: remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of skin contact: Wash off with warm water and soap.
In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eye lids, for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
If swallowed: Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), dry powder, foam, water mist
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray.

Special hazards arising from the substance
Specific hazards during firefighting: Burning produces irritant fumes. Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Body covering protective clothing, full "turn-out" gear. Self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133)
Further information: Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective equipment. In the case of dust or aerosol formation use respirator with an approved filter.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow contact with soil, surface or ground water. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up: Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wear personal protective equipment. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing dust. Keep container tightly closed. Remove all sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. In case of occurrence of dust, risk of dust explosion. In case of occurrence of dust, risk of dust explosion.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat. In case of occurrence of dust, risk of dust explosion.

Specific end uses: Antioxidant
