E-glass microfibre is inorganic, chemically inert and highly insoluble in water. It has low potential to accumulate in aquatic species.

End-point study on hydrolysis is waived and the justification for this waiving is adaptation to column 2 of Annex VIII, 9.2.2.1. E-glass microfibre is inorganic, chemically inert and highly insoluble in water. It is thus evaluated that E-glass microfibre is not hydrolysed in water and that it is stable in the environment.

Study of end-point 5.2.1 biodegradation in water:screening test waived. Because, E-glass microfibre is inorganic and chemically inert. It is evaluated that E-glass microfibre is not biodegradable.

Study of the end-point 5.4.1 (adsorption/desorption) is waived, because E-glass microfibre is inorganic, chemically inert and highly insoluble in water. It is thus evaluated that E-glass microfibre will have a low adsorption/desorption potential.
