A Buehler test using Guinea pigs was conducted according to GLP-requirements and current test guidelines (OECD No. 406, EU Method B.6; BASF, 2002). None of the 20 Guinea pigs of the test group (0/20) developed a contact dermatitis against formic acid in distilled water (concentrations 7.5% during induction and 2% during challenge). Negative and positive controls performed as expected.
