Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Taking into account exposure considerations, long-term aquatic toxicity to fish studies are not carried out as proper risk management measures are implemented during manufacturing process and no exposure to aquatic compartment is likely to occur in the whole life cicle of the substance

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to Annex VII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, a long-term aquatic toxicity study on Daphnia is to be considered if the substance is poorly water soluble. Two studies on Triethanol aminecetate and Diethanol amineacetate (refer to IUCLID Section 4.8 for study summaries) were commissioned to determine the solubility of these substances in water. Both substances were found to have solubility >1000g/L which, according to the TGD and CSR guidances, indicates they are very soluble (substances with solubility >10g/L are deemed to be very soluble). Therefore, this study was not conducted. Moreover, no exposure to aquatic compartment is likely to occur as proper risk management measures are implemented during manufacturing process.
