Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Endpoint:
- melting point/freezing point
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- 2007-09-06 to 2007-09-16
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
- Version / remarks:
- EU A1
- GLP compliance:
- yes (incl. QA statement)
- Type of method:
- thermal analysis
- Atm. press.:
- ca. 101 300 Pa
- Decomposition:
- yes
- Remarks:
- starting from 534 K (260°C)
- Decomp. temp.:
- ca. 260 °C
- Sublimation:
- no
- Remarks on result:
- other: Decomposition range 260 - 335°C
- Conclusions:
- The test material decomposed from appr. 534 K. Similar thermographic profiles were obtained using air an nitrogen atmospheres.; this indicates that the observed decomposition in both determinations is probably thermal and not oxidative.
- Executive summary:
No distinct melting point could be determined. Range of decomposition is appr. 260 to 345 °C.
Reference
Assignment of the DSC thermal events was performed with the aid of visual observations recorded during a metal block apparatus assessment of the test material. The test material was observed to discolour to pale yellow/brown at 270°C and then discolour further as heating continued resulting in black solid remaining on completion of the assessment at 335°C.
