Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: In case of accident by inhalation: remove casaulty to fresh
air an keep at rest. Seek medical treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes also
under the eyelids and seek medical treatment.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing immediately.

Wash off with plenty of water and polyethylene glycol 400

if available. Seek medical treatment.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Immediately
consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder.

Product arising from burning: Carbon oxides, sulfur oxides, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen
chloride, water.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In case of fire wear self contained breathing apparatus.

Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Unprotected persons must be kept away.

Avoid any contact with the spilt product or contaminated
surfaces.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see 'Hand-
ling').

Sweep up or vacuum up spillage avoiding the formation of
dust and collect it in suitable waste containers which must
be tightly closed and labelled according to TRGS 201.
Dispose of according to local regulations.

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer systems.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure
by inhalation of the substance and by skin contact are mini-
mized and eye contact is avoided.

Where possible, use closed or at least dustproof equipment
during filling, metered feeding, and sampling.

In the case of handling the substance in open systems, ex-
tract any dust which forms, directly at the point of origin.
If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not pos-
sible or are insufficient, suitable respiratory protection
(filter apparatus with particle filter, e.g. EN 149 FFP2 or
EN140 P2) should be worn.

To avoid skin contact, tested protective gloves (e.g. made
of nitrile rubber) and, if applicable, suitable protective
clothing have to be worn.

Safe eye protection (e.g. safety goggles, EN166) should be
worn, too.

Adequate washing facilities and conspicuously labelled eye-
douche stations should be provided in the immediate vicini-
ty of the working area.

After contact with the skin, the affected parts of the body
should be thoroughly cleaned instantly using plenty of wa-
ter and polyethylene glycol 400 if available.

Special skin-protection and skin-care measures are recom-
mended.

Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately after
handling the product.

A skin-protection plan should be drawn up.

In cases where dusts can form, due to the potential dust-
explosion risk, potential sources of ignition should be re-
moved from the working area. In addition, measures should

be taken to prevent electrostatic discharges.

Storage: Apply the VCI concept for the Mixed Storage of Chemicals.
Store the substance in the original containers.

Keep them tightly closed and secure them against falling by
taking the appropriate measures.

Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.

Keep them in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Do not store in heat or direct sunlight.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Drums, 200 kg or big bag.

Exposure controls / personal protection

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Respiratory protection:
If product is handled while not enclosed, and if contact may occur:
Wear respirator with a particle filter mask (protection factor 10) conforming to European Norm EN149FFP2 or EN140P2 or equivalent.

Hand protection: Wear CE Marked (or equivalent) nitrile rubber gloves (minimum thickness 0,40 mm). Wash when contaminated. Dispose of when
contaminated inside, when perforated or when contamination outside cannot be removed. Wash hands always before eating, drinking, smoking or using the toilet.

Eye protection: Wear goggles conforming to EN166 (Field of Use 5 or equivalent).

Hygiene measures:

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Keep working clothes separately.
Wash hands immediately after work, if necessary take a shower.
Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.
Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).

Protective measures:
If product is handled while not enclosed, and if contact may occur:
Complete suit protecting against chemicals
