EMBRYOTOXIC EFFECTS:
- Test substance mainly caused early deaths and a dose-response was observed.
Rate of early deaths =
. 3 % of embryos at 1.0 µmol/egg,
. 77 % at 4.0 µmol/egg,
. 100 % at the highest doses (i.e. at 6.0 and 8.0 µmol/egg).
- No embryo that died late was observed as malformed.
- 3 to 7 % of survivors were malformed at the lowest doses (from 1.0 to 4.0 µmol/egg).
- 2 to 7 % of the late dead were not malformed at the lowest doses (from 1.0 to 3.0 µmol/egg).

CALCULATED PARAMETERS:
. ED50 = 3.1 µmol/egg
. LD 50 for total mortality = 3.3 µmol/egg
. LD50 for dead not malformed = 3.3 µmol/egg
. LD50 for early deaths = 3.4 µmol/egg

MAIN INDUCED MALFORMATIONS:
- small eye cup (17% of malformated survuivals)
- lack of lids and cornea or parts of them (50% of malformated survivals)
- open coelom (50% of malformated survivals)
- defects of back and neck (33% of malformated survivals).
