Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
INHALATION: Remove person to fresh air immediately while getting immediate medical attention. Use a bag valve mask or similar device to perform artificial respiration (rescue breathing) if needed.
SKIN CONTACT: Immediately wash skin with soap and plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek immediate medical attention.
INGESTION: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person. Do NOT induce vomiting. If person is conscious and alert have victim rinse mouth with water. Seek immediate medical attention.
EYE CONTACT: Immediately remove contact lenses and flush eyes with large amounts of water, occasionally lifting upper and lower lids, until no evidence of chemical remains at least 15 - 20 minutes. Get immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water mist, foam dry chemical, CO2. Use any means suitable for extinguishing surrounding fire.
UNSUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: High volume water jet as this may spread fire.
FIRE FIGHTING: Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing. Avoid inhalation of material or combustion by products. Stay upwind stay out of low areas.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Use water spray to cool and protect fire exposed containers.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: May generate potential toxic and irritating fumes and oxides.
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS: Cleanup personnel should wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment. Keep unnecessary and unprotected people away from area of spill. Ensure proper ventilation spill site. Avoid inhalation of dust.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS: Do not let spilled material enter floor drains, sewers or water sources or the environment.
METHODS FOR CLEAN-UP: Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep unnecessary and unprotected people away from area of spill. Clean up personnel should wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment. Collect spilled material (avoid generation of dust) and place into an appropriate waste disposal container. After clean-up is complete wash spill site. Do no allow material to enter floor drains, sewers or water sources of any kind.
Handling and storage
SAFE HANDLING: Avoid inhalation of dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from physical damage. Ensure proper ventilation. Use necessary PPE’s to prevent exposure by any route. Keep away from food and drinks. Do not eat, drink or smoke at work. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
SAFE STORAGE: Store in original container in a cool, dry, well ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection
VENTILATION: Local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne levels.
EYE PROTECITON: Chemical safety goggles.
RESPIRATION: NIOSH/OSHA approved respirator. B Half face respirator with P100 (HEPA cartridges)
CLOTHING: Appropriate protective Tyvek clothing, including boots, chemical resistant gloves (like nitrile or neoprene), lab coat, apron or coveralls to prevent any contact.
Eyewash fountain and quick drench shower should be available in the immediate work area.
Inhalation of dusts and aerosols must be prevented by either adequate ventilation or by a suitable mask. People with chronic respiratory problems should not work with chemical powders. If symptoms such as tightness in the chest or asthma occur while handling chemical powders, a physician should be consulted as soon as possible. If hypersensitivity is confirmed, all contact with chemical powders should cease immediately.
Stability and reactivity
STABILITY: Stable under proper conditions of storage and use.
POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur.
HAZARDOUS REACTION: Not applicable
INCOMPATIBILES: Strong oxidizing agents, nitric acids and nitrates.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Dusty conditions. In the case of dusty organic products the possibility of dust explosion should always be considered.
Disposal considerations
DISPOSAL: Dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
UNCLEANED PACKAGING: Soiled empty containers are to be treated in the same way as the contents
