Description of key information

A study is available for hydrolysis of 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxane-5-methanol. It was found that 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxan-5-methanol is hydrolytically stable at a range of pH values and as such, hydrolysis is not expected to represent a significant degradation pathway in the environment. As 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxane-5-methanol has been shown to be readily biodegradable it is considered that testing for phototransformation is not required.
