National Inspectorates - Luxembourg
The Luxembourg Competent Authority for REACH, CLP and Biocides is the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure. The national legislation for REACH, CLP and Biocides Regulation establishes inter-administrative cooperation between the Environment Protection Agency, the Labour Inspection, the Health Directorate, the Water Management Administration, the Customs and Excise Administration and for the Biocides Regulation additionally, the Veterinary Services Administration and the control unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer protection. These national legislations provide them with the powers they need and sets down the offences and penalties (both administrative and criminal) for contraventions of REACH, CLP and Biocides requirements.
The Environment Protection Agency acts as Focal point for contacting other European authorities and conducts regular inspections on companies and products on the Luxembourgish market.
