The substance is rapidly hydrolyzed in < 1 min at pH 1.2, 4, 7 and 9 at 25°C to Phosphinic acid, phenyl- (CAS 1779 -48 -2), Phosphonic acid, phenyl- (CAS 1571 -33 -1), Phenyl phosphine (CAS 638 -21 -1) and chloride. The industrial process gives a high >95% yield of Phosphinic acid, phenyl-, but under the OECD 111 conditions, the yield of Phosphinic acid, phenyl- and Phosphonic acid, phenyl- is approximately the same.
