Description of key information

Biodegradation

A weight of evidence approach is taken to the evaluation of three reliable guideline studies. From a range of concentrations tested (>50 mg/l, 33.8 mg/l, 20.1 mg/l and 10.3 mg/l) the corresponding ultimate degradations were 48%, 73%, 76% and 78%. It is concluded that the studies are reliable and that the weight of evidence indicates that the substance is readily biodegradable.

Adsorption

A QSAR approach has been used to estimate the adsorption potential of propoxylated palm oil. Based on an assessment of propoxylation of the palmitic acid and the oleic acid, the estimated Log Koc ranged from 3.54 and 4.57, with a Koc of between 3,500 and 37,530 l/kg.
