Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General advice: Remove contaminated clothes.
- Following inhalation: Supply fresh air. Seek medical treatment in case of complaints.
- Following skin contact: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.
- Following eye contact: In case of eye contact, thoroughly rinse with water and consult a doctor.
- Following ingestion: Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical treatment.
- Most important symptoms and effects: no information available.
- Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment: Symptomatic treatment
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: foam, carbon dioxide, powder extinguishing agent, water spray.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: not applicable
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire the following can be released: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide; hydrogen fluoride (HF), phosphorus oxides (phosphorus pentoxide). Under certain fire conditions, traces of other toxic substances cannot be excluded.
- Advice for fire fighter: Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases. Wear full-face, self-contained breathing apparatus and protective overall.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions: use personal protection equipment.
- Environmental precautions: Make sure that the material cannot leak into the sewage system, waters or soil.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, universal binders). Dispose of absorbed material in accordance within the regulations.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling: Provide for sufficient ventilation, if necessary with vapour extraction at the workplace.
- Hygiene measures: Keep away from food and drink. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Preventive skin protection by use of skin-protecting agents. Do not eat, drink or smoke while at work.
- General protective measures: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe gas/vapour/aerosol.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: prevention of fire and explosions: No special measures required. Storage: Keep container tightly closed and store at an aired place. Storage category 10.
