Additional information

At 20 °C and 1013 hPa, the substance is a red brown powder. The substance does not melt, but it decomposes above 250 °C as shown by DSC analysis. At 20 °C, density of the substance is 1.44 g/cm3, with a mass median diameter between 63 and 250 µm.

The substance has a partition coefficient between octanol and water of log Pow = -1.6, determined by the shake-flask method at 20 °C and pH 7; it is moderately soluble in water (378 mg/l) at 20 ± 0.5 °C and pH 7.5 as determined by the flask method.

The surface tension of the substance in water is 61.4 mN/m at 22 ± 0.5 °C. Therefore, the substance should not be considered as having surface active properties.

The substance has a relative self-ignition temperature of 253 ± 3 °C, it is not highly flammable and it is evaluated as non explosive in tests of thermal and mechanical (shock and friction) sensitivity.
