Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Toxicity to fish, acute:

The short-term toxicity to fish was tested with Poecilia reticulata (guppy) in a non-standard study equivalent or similar to OECD 203. In a 14 -day semi-static study with at least 5 different concentrations with a geometrically increasing factor of 1.8, 10 fish were exposed to each concentration. The LC50 -values were calculated from log-it analysis. In this test, the test item revealed a LC50 of 1.11 mg/L (Deneer et al., 1988)

Toxicity to Daphnia, acute:

Daphnia magna was exposed towards the test item in an OECD 202 test. After 48h the EC50 was determined to be 0.171 mg/L (mean mesured).

Toxicity to Daphnia, chronic:

In a 21-day chronic semi static toxicity study, Daphnia magna were exposed to Decyloxirane at nominal concentrations of 0 (control), 0.07 mg/L, 0.10 mg/L, 0.15 mg/L, 0.22 mg/L and 0.33 mg/L (corresponding to time-weighted measured concentrations of 0 (control), 0.087 mg/L, 0.116 mg/L, 0.196 mg/L, 0.226 mg/L and 0.287 mg/L) in accordance with the OECD 211 guideline. Measured concentrations deviated mostly more than 20% from the nominal concentration. Therefore, results of this study are based on time-weighted mean measured concentrations.

LOEC = 0.116 mg/L

NOEC = 0.087 mg/L

EC10 = 0.091 mg/L

Toxicity to algae, acute/chronic:

Two guideline studies (OECD 201) according to GLP with Pseudokirchneriella subspicata are available for Decyloxirane. The EC50 of the first study was determined to be 0.0557 mg/l and the NOEC was determined to be 0.00416 mg/l based on mean measure concentrations. The EC50 of the second study was 0.52 mg/l and the EC10 0.25 mg/l related to growth rate based on initial measured concentrations.

Due to analytical inconsistencies of the first study and subsequent performed additional studies (hydrolysis: OECD 111 / second study OECD 201) the first study has to be re-evaluated in the light of the additional findings (see justification). Therefore, the key values for algae were derived from the second study being EC50: 0.52 mg/l and EC10 0.25 mg/l, respectively.

Toxicity to microorganisms:

A new guideline study (OECD 209) according to GLP is available for decyloxirane. After 3h exposure the EC10 and EC50 were determined to be 36 mg/l and > 1000 mg/l, respectively.
